Almora: Before the Lok Sabha elections, teacher-employee organizations are once again preparing for agitation demanding restoration of old pension. National Movement for Restoration of Old Pension (NMOPS) district unit held a virtual meeting on Wednesday. In which the further strategy including the proposals passed by the provincial leadership to give edge to the movement were discussed.

In the virtual meeting, the officials said that disciplinary committees will be formed by the organization for other works along with the women’s wing of the state and district. The names of five women powers who played an important role in the movement will be identified. In the proposed membership campaign, it will be mandatory for all teachers and staff to get membership. In the membership campaign, office representative, department representative, school representative, block office representative, cluster representative will be appointed at the block level. Whereas ITcell will be formed at block, district and province level. In which five names will be nominated from each block level.
To strengthen the pension restoration movement, NMOPS will hold a protest across the district on 11th February.
District President Ganesh Bhandari said that along with preparing a women’s wing in Almora district, an active cell of women employees and teachers will be created. Along with this, membership committee, disciplinary committee and IT cell will be formed at the district and block level. He said that the programs of NMOPS will continue till the demand for restoration of old pension is met. And public awareness programs will be organized continuously at the district level.
In the virtual meeting, NMOPS District President Ganesh Singh Bhandari, Bhupal Singh Chilwal, Dr. Manoj Joshi, Dhirendra Kumar Pathak, Jeevan Mehra, Mohan Joshi, Kavindra Upreti, Ramesh Mehra, Gokul Durgapal, Meenakshi Joshi, Raju Mahara, Nitesh Kandpal, Manoj Pathak, Dinesh Bhandari, Vinod Chandra, Dinesh Tiwari, Kailash Joshi, Basant Pandey, Raju Latwal, Tara Singh Bisht, Girish Mathpal etc. were present.
