ALMORA 02 December, 2024 District Magistrate Alok Kumar Pandey said that complaints are being received from time to time through various mediums regarding the works being done under the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme in the district not being of good quality and standards and not having adequate supply of drinking water etc. He said that it is not at all appropriate to receive such complaints in the implementation of a comprehensive public welfare/important and time-bound scheme like Jal Jeevan Mission and affects the functioning of the concerned working agency.

The District Magistrate said that as per the list provided by various working agencies under the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme, two-member investigation committees have been constituted for separate schemes to investigate those schemes in which 100% work has been completed.  He has instructed the officer nominated for the constituted committees to review the DPR of the works done under the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme and ensure their quality as per the conditions/standards/rules mentioned in them and their relevance as per the public aspirations and the current status of drinking water supply etc. by conducting a field inspection and if any kind of negligence is seen in the works during the inspection or the public complaint is confirmed, then in this regard, a detailed investigation report with its clear opinion should be sent to the District Magistrate’s office within one day to propose action against the concerned. He has also instructed the nominated investigation officers to ensure that the regional public representatives/public are also informed about the field inspection during the inspection and their complaints/suggestions will also be taken into account during the investigation.
