Almora: Responding sharply to Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Ajay Tamta’s allegation that MLA Manoj Tiwari was responsible for the delay in the Kwarab road repair, Almora MLA Manoj Tiwari accused the minister of shifting blame to hide his own failures.

Tiwari said that despite holding an important post, Ajay Tamta has failed to complete the repair of just a two-meter stretch of the Kwarab road in his own home region even after one and a half years, causing hardship to the people of Almora, Pithoragarh, and Bageshwar. “If a Union Minister cannot fix even his home constituency’s road, what can people expect from him?” he asked.
The MLA further alleged that Tamta has been labeling common citizens demanding road repairs as “anti-social elements,” which he termed unfortunate. He also accused the minister of awarding a work worth nearly ₹10 crore for the Doba Chausali motor road without tender to his close associates, calling it a clear example of corruption.
Tiwari declared that he would continue to raise the voice of the people regardless of how many allegations are made against him. He stressed that in the past 18 months, ordinary citizens, patients, traders, tourists, hoteliers, and taxi operators have all been suffering due to the dilapidated condition of the Kwarab road, while the Union Minister has only been indulging in blame games.
He concluded by saying that the minister’s statement clearly reflects the attitude of “a frustrated person trying to cover failure by blaming others.”
